“10 months” of enforced disappearance of the student “Ahmed Adel” and fears for his life

“Egyptian coordination for Rights and Freedoms” documented a complaint that the student “Ahmed Adel Mohamed Mohamed adawy” was forcibly disappeared after being detained by security force of the center of Ayat on April 24, 2016, and when they was asked about him, they denied his existence.

The student’s father «Ahmed Adel» stressed that even today has not been able to know the fate of his son and expressed his fear of being subjected to torture and ill-treatment, according to the deal by the security services with the victims of enforced disappearances at the headquarters of the secret detention.

Enforced disappearance is a crime contrary to Article ninth of the International Covenant of political and civil Rights which states that “1. Everyone has the right to liberty and security of person. No one shall be arrested or detained arbitrarily. No one shall be deprived of his freedom except for reasons specified by law. 2. Anyone who is arrested must be informed of the reasons for the arrest, be promptly informed of any charges against him”.

“Egyptian coordination for Rights and Freedoms” calling for the Egyptian authorities to quickly release of the student, carrying the Egyptian authorities full responsibility for his life and safety of any abuse against him, where Authority becomes solely responsible for it that happened, as long he was remained under arrest, and demands to respect the principles of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights and the principles of the international Covenant on civil and political rights
